Our rooms
Fawns
Our cosy and welcoming Fawns Room is where babies begin their journey at Little Pixies. Caring for up to 12 babies, it provides a calm, nurturing space where little ones can form secure bonds with their key person.
Routines in the Fawns Room are shaped around each child’s individual needs, with meals and sleep times mirroring home routines for consistency and comfort. Throughout the day, babies enjoy a variety of sensory activities, songs, stories, building blocks, and plenty of opportunities to crawl, roll, and take those first steps.
From the very beginning, our babies have the chance to explore the outdoors in our dedicated baby garden, a secure space where they can play, discover, and even sleep outside during the warmer months. Thanks to our beautiful rural setting, we also enjoy buggy walks around the local area, often stopping to see the sheep and horses. These gentle adventures offer fresh air, stimulation, and the first meaningful connections with the world around them.
Imps
Our spacious Imps Room is designed for curious toddlers aged 16/18 months to 24/26 months, giving them plenty of room to explore and build their growing physical confidence.
In this room, we continue to focus on the three prime areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage: Communication & Language, Physical Development, and Personal, Social & Emotional Development. These form the foundations for all future learning. A language-rich environment supports first words and conversations, with stories, songs, and playful interactions woven into every day.
Mealtimes in the Imps Room are lively and hands-on. Toddlers are encouraged to try new flavours, practice independence, and enjoy the social experience of eating together, even if it sometimes gets a little messy!
Sprites
The Sprites Room is home to our busy 2–3 year-olds, offering the perfect balance of independence and support. With free-flow access to toileting facilities, children are gently encouraged as they take their next steps towards potty training, while still feeling supported and secure.
Our daily routine starts with a cheerful ‘Hello’ time after breakfast, followed by a mix of adult-led activities, child-initiated play, and outdoor exploration, keeping little ones engaged and active throughout the day.
In Sprites, we continue to build on the EYFS prime areas of learning while introducing the specific areas: Understanding the World, Expressive Arts and Design, Mathematics, and Literacy. This creates a strong foundation for children to grow in confidence, creativity, and curiosity as they approach pre-school.
Elves
Our Elves Room is the final step of the Little Pixies journey, caring for children from 3 years until they start school. Here, we begin to gently prepare children for school routines, while ensuring learning is still fun, playful, and engaging.
The Elves’ daily routine balances structured activities with plenty of play, giving children opportunities to build independence, practise problem-solving, and develop strong social skills. Responsive planning based on each child’s individual interests brings the seven areas of EYFS to life, helping children gain confidence and develop a lifelong love of learning.
Above all, our approach is responsive and nurturing. We value each child’s emerging interests and needs, guiding their development through warm, positive interactions that prepare them not just for school, but for their next big adventure.
